Scratchings from

Last month I told you about the rhubarb how it was just poking through the ground - well look at it now !

Surely Pim wouldn't notice a little nibble here and there now among all those huge leaves..

Yech! - I just tried it and one bites enough - its gross - stay away from rhubarb leaves !

I always like to keep my eyes open for tasty snacks - oh and of course things that may interest you. The Blooming Fields is in "spring mode" now, with the nursery tables laden with all kinds of plants (and snacks).

Plants inside and outside are crowding the shelves, I keep my eyes peeled for the careless person who may leave something delectable down at my level (but not rhubarb leaves).

I wandered by the greenhouse, just in case Pim left the door open, and I peeked inside - I couldn't believe it, the lettuce was huge ! Mary-Ann is picking it daily for the tea house and I can see why.

Nobody was around the greenhouse and I thought you may want to hear how those succulent little leaves tasted - I strolled into the greenhouse and found the choicest leaf I could find - and then whump - Pim had snuck up behind me and lifted me up - then I was sent out of the greenhouse.

I'll try to get in to give you a report on how the lettuce tastes!

until next time.
